Thinking about movable distractions, tuning in and tuning out on a long journey As I prepare for this next big outing, India bound, I’m revisiting whether I’ll listen to music ‘on the road’. I scarcely ever listened to anything as I cycled around Australia, and not at all as I walked the length of New Zealand with Rose, but what about this next one? Just now I’ve jammed my earphones in the ear, and put on Silver Lining by Rilo Kiley. I only did it to drown out Jamie’s snoring, but that song, a song I know, washed over me and in a way I didn’t expect and now I wonder if I might need that out there.
