Today I learned (TIL) that storing acid in a workshop or machine shop is probably not a good idea as molecules of the acid will leak into the air, gradually lowering the pH of the room into acidic territory, creating conditions for metals to oxidise and rust.

Likewise, bleach releases acid and so shouldn’t be used for cleaning in the shop.
