Teju Cole, Known and Strange Things, Faber & Faber, 2016

Three lines into Teju Cole’s collection of essays Known and Strange Things and he hits me with that. So pure. Not a word wasted. As tight as a thought can be. A philosophy, my philosophy, for which I had only just begun to try and shape into a phrase, and which Teju has now done for me, and better than I could have. Bravo, Teju.
