Understanding is misunderstanding

This is a foundational belief for me, one on which much of my understanding of the world rests.

My long held interpretation was just as valuable — and in many ways just as valid — as the realisation I came to later. My first understanding of The Road Not Taken was a misunderstanding yes, but my current understanding is a misunderstanding too.
