Understanding is a dialogue

Increasingly in my life I’m realising that the solutions to life’s challenges emerge best in/from conversation, and my success in life follows directly from finding the right people to talk to, people I can learn from through mutual and open conversation.

When I can share without fear of judgement and listen without need to judge, it is then that I seem to reach ever closer to the nirvana of a consistent life.

(Consistency here explicitly does not signify an ‘unvarying’ life but refers instead to a moral/philosophical stability that ballasts a life such that change and variance can be explored and welcomed.)

I think that Martin Buber and his extensive writing about his philosophy of dialogue, the importance of conversation in human life, would be particularly relevant here and I should make time to read more of it.
