She immigrated to Canada in 1992, has lived most of her life here in Canada, raised her children here.
And she’s worried by Trudeau’s resignation yesterday. She lives in gratitude to Trudeau. When she arrived in Canada she was excited but afraid. Over time, policies to support newcomers made her life more secure and she worries that with Trudeau gone, the rhetoric will shift against immigrants.
The only thing Trudeau has done that she’s not happy about is “decriminalising the drugs”.
